How to Ensure Uninterrupted Quarry Operations? Insights from Rusbusinessauto
Denis Lebedev, Head of the Mining Division at Rusbusinessauto, spoke at the “Real MINING 2025” conference about two key priorities for mining companies: technical expertise and ensuring uninterrupted operation of equipment fleets.
In the mining equipment market, Rusbusinessauto offers machinery under the LGMG brand. Although this partnership was established in 2022, it is built on a much longer-standing cooperation with LGMG’s subsidiary SDLG (rebranded as LGCE). The product lineup includes wide-body mining dump trucks with payload capacities of up to 100 tons, articulated dump trucks, and mining excavators. Among the models supplied to Russia is the RTH100 hybrid dump truck.
Rusbusinessauto began working with Chinese manufacturers as early as 2006. According to Denis Lebedev, many of the challenges that new dealers only started encountering in 2022 had already been addressed by the company long before that. This experience allows the supplier today to focus on other priorities, primarily service and improving service quality. In today’s market realities, success belongs not to those who simply have equipment, but to those who can ensure its uninterrupted operation 24/7.
Specialized software helps select the right equipment
Rusbusinessauto has introduced its own proprietary solution to the market: Fleet Smart Management. The concept is straightforward. Clients complete a detailed questionnaire describing operating conditions at their mining site. This data is then processed by the system, which generates an optimal configuration of excavators and dump trucks working together. In addition, the software provides a techno-economic justification for up to five years, including a detailed breakdown of fleet operating costs by month.
The speaker shared several practical examples:
A comparison between modeled data and actual operating results of the 65-ton LGMG CMT96 dump truck at a mining site demonstrated high accuracy, with reliability reaching 97.8%.
In the case of the AT40 articulated dump truck, accuracy was slightly lower, at around 95%, due to the still limited operational experience of this model in Russia.
Service as the foundation of uninterrupted operations
One of the key advantages of large, long-established suppliers is a well-developed branch network. Rusbusinessauto operates branches in 45 regions of the Russian Federation and maintains 250 mobile service teams. The company offers several service programs, including service contracts and a remote-region service card.
Rusbusinessauto also operates its own service station with dedicated overhaul workshops capable of performing major repairs, including engine overhauls. An additional offering is a replacement pool of major components provided to customers during the period of capital repairs.
Furthermore, two years ago the company launched a service that ensures year-round on-site presence of a service team at the customer’s location, including 24/7 support and consignment warehouses directly at the client’s site.
